My Story…
During the month of June I am lacing up my sneakers and participating in the 4th annual Headache on the Hill Walk, Run or Just Relax event. This event benefits a cause that affects so many and has a mission that is particularly close to my heart and my family.
Since 2008, I have lived with a constant headache disorder that has changed my life. It is throughout the past 15 years that I have come to realize that by advocating for myself and others who also have migraine, my pain can serve a higher purpose. Being a Headache on the Hill patient advocate has given me hope that change is possible and the treatment of headache disorders and migraine will expand and improve my life and the lives of others like me.
The Alliance for Headache Disorders Advocacy (AHDA) advocates for equitable policies for those with headache disorders. These advocacy efforts have been primarily expressed through the annual Headache on the Hill (HOH) congressional advocacy day in Washington, DC and other year-round advocacy actions that I have been so proud to participate in for the past 2 years.
The funds raised through this event will be used to provide scholarships for patient advocates to attend the event. Financial means should not prevent anyone from being able to participate in this important advocacy effort. As a scholarship recipient myself, I know firsthand how important this is.
It would mean so much to me if you could donate to help me reach my fundraising goal of $50.
Thank you for your support!
