My Story…
On June 25 I will be joining other members of Michigan's Headache on the Hill team - #TeamMitten - as part of Miles for Migraine to raise money to benefit Alliance for Headache Disorders Advocacy (AHDA) to support their annual Headache on the Hill event. Headache on the Hill is AHDA's advocacy event where patients, providers, and caregivers from all over the country come together to advocate for equitable federal policies for those with headache disorders. We work to increase money for research, provide equitable care for veterans, minorities, and many other issues.
If you know me, you may know that I have had migraine disease for over half a century. Both of my daughters have migraine as well; it is inherited. We are part of over 40 million Americans with this and other serious headache disorders. Migraine is the second leading cause of disability in the US, yet research funding is one of the lowest in relation to its impact.
We need more research and we need more equitable care.
I know everyone is asking for donations for many worth causes, and we can't donate to them all. But if you can, ANY amount will go a long way to help our advocacy efforts.
Thank you.
